Ok, here's my list of possible horcruxes:

PS: Wand displayed at Ollivander's - Ravenclaw horcrux
CoS: Diary - Destroyed
PoA: ??? - Gryffindor horcrux
GoF: Voldemort - Alive and well by all accounts
OotP: Locket - Slythering horcrux
HBP: Ring - Destroyed
HP7: Cup - Hufflepuff

Here's the deal, I just read Lori Summer's "Paradigm of Uncertianty" for the first time and there's a certain mechanism that involves tarot cards (not to completely spoil it for you if you haven't had a chance to read it yet) and for some reason that tripped something in my brain relating to horcruxes (possibly the mention of the King of Cups).

So here it is in shorthand:

House Horcrux

Tarot suit

Wand at Ollivanders

Wands

???

Swords

Locket

Pentacles

Cup

Cups

It's that last one that confuses me. We've seen Gryffindor's sword but only in CoS. To my imagination, there is abosolutely no way that's it's a horcrux. I'm wondering if someone managed to fool Tom Riddle with a fake but that's almost as unlikely as the first possibility. I wonder if there is a sword lying around inconspicuously in PoA? Hmm.... Of course, it doesn't altogether rule out Harry's scar which seems to be a fan favorite....

I also noticed something else that relates to my observation of the Gryffindor/Ravenclaw connection in relationship. The most notable ones are Bill/Fleur, Hagrid/Maxime, Ron/Luna *cough*, and Harry/Hermione *cough* *cough*. Here goes: Gryffindor = fire sword = air, Ravenclaw = air wand = fire. And then there's Slytherin = water Pentacles = earth, Hufflepuff = earth Cup = water

Can anyone explain why I'm seeing this pattern?

HP7:

Snape is not necessarily evil, he's just an extremely unpleasant person...

Draco is a werewolf. It sounds crazy at first but it fits with Draco's behavior astonishingly...

Tonks is the new Secret-keeper. Harry ran into Tonks on the seventh floor and she says she was on her way to see Dumbledore. I think DD knew what was about to happen and he knew that the secret would die with him so he switched.

Harry will have a ride on a magic carpet...

Harry will not stay very long at the Burrow. He will only be there for the wedding.

There seems to be a Gryffindor/Ravenclaw connection between ships:

- H/Hr - Hermione was considered for Ravenclaw
- R/Lu - That's obvious
- Bill/Fleur - Beauxbatons students regularly hung out with the Ravenclaws and also the flying carriage symbolizing air
- Hagrid/Maxime - another Gryffindor/Beauxbaton connection
- James/Lily - Of course, with HBP saying Lily should've been in Slytherin, I don't know... There's only her parallel with Hermione
- Dumbledore/Pomfrey - Ok, I just like that ship...
- Tonks/Lupin - with a gender switch?
- Filch/Pince - possibly... eww... nm...
- And maybe even Vernon/Petunia
- R/Hr would fit but not H/G. So something has to happen there...

I, like many others, think that a horcrux has been mentioned in every book.

PS/SS: Wand in the window as the Ravenclaw horcrux*- possibly the reason Ollivander high-tailed it...
CoS: Diary
PoA: ???? or the Gryffindor horcrux*
GoF: Voldemort
OotP: Locket as the Slytherin horcrux*
HBP: Ring
HP7: Hufflepuff cup <-- duh*

As you can see that neatly puts the founder's items in the odd-numbered books. I wonder why in that order though?

I am a part of the Pirate Ginny club. However, I personally feel that either Snape or Slughorn was a backer in it.

Even I hated going to church when I first became a Christian. Maybe it's because I hate routine. Gotta change it up a little...

Gotta leave in 15 to get donuts for church or the little kids will mutiny!

Which reminds me...

I can't stand people who come up to me saying "The real Sabbath is on Saturday!" You know what? Who cares? God doesn't. The Sabbath is just God's version of worker's rights. He knew people would drop dead if they worked for seven days straight so he said "Six days you shall work and seventh is a Sabbath. Keep it holy. Do no work." So what if your week starts on Tuesday! In our western culture, however, our week starts on Monday. Good luck trying to get people to have church on Monday instead of Sunday...

Of course, the Israelites over the years made it into a full blown religious holiday and they made it more work than it's worth...

I had the weirdest dream last night. In it, I woke up as normal and turned on the news. On the news was Dan Radcliffe and he was talking about the DVD release of GoF (which shouldn't happen for another few months). As I'm listening to him talk, he blurts out that he lost his virginity to Emma Watson! (Now that I'm awake, I'm kind of disgusted but oh well...)

Then I find myself in a hospital, outside a room. I walk in and there's Dan Radcliffe in a coma! He had some sort of brain aneurysm (sp?)! His mother was there to tell me what happened. His face was kind of contorted and he was drooling. He looked awful (as awful as he can be). I told his mother I'd pray for him and she said, "Thank you". I stick around and a few hours later he's dead.

Dudley Demented: A Closer Look

By

Lockedsomewhere

Some might think I’m crazy but I think Dudley is one of the more intriguing characters in Harry Potter. (At least, he’s the character that I have the most pity for.) He is the classic spoiled child. His parents fawn over his every last wish. So, of course, Harry is clueless as to what frightened Dudley so at the hands of the dementors. What's more is that the dementors wasted no time in trying to kiss Dudley. What horrors are hidden in the secret life of Dudley Dursley?

What we see of Dudley is mostly in the summer. In the summer, Dudley gets to shine. It’s Dudley this and Dudley that… My question is: Is this treatment because of Harry Potter? I think so. Petunia knew of her sister’s craft long before Dudley came along and she wanted to make dead sure that Dudley didn’t turn out like that. Petunia probably showered the poor boy with material things to send the message that “this is the world you belong too”. She was married to a businessman after all. There life really is all about material things.

So by the time Dudley was eleven, it was probably pretty evident that being magical meant being second-class. Dudley does not want to be second-class. Dudley spent his primary school days showing his superiority to Harry Potter because of this fear. Sadly, it probably only served Dudley’s purpose that those mysterious things happened around Harry. Dudley had evidence that Harry was not normal and doesn’t deserve to be treated as such. Also, I wouldn't put it past Petunia to tell the school administration that Harry was a good-for-nothing little shrimp while Dudley was the most special, precious, and darling little child that they would ever meet.

However, the time must come for the dear cousins to part ways. Dudley is going to the prestigious Smeltings and Harry is going to that school for freaks. What a cause for celebration in the Dursley household! Dudley was going to a “normal” school (thank ghod). And for a while, I’m sure Vernon and Petunia thought they had succeeded in beating the magic out of Harry.

At Smeltings, Dudley no longer has his punching bag to compare himself too. Now, granted, we know nothing about this school. But I can easily imagine that this prestigious preparatory school is not very welcoming of overweight children. I can also easily imagine that this school is none too welcoming of spoiled children. My conclusion? Dudley is NOT popular at school, no matter what image he portrays at home.

And I’m sure this “bottom-of-the-food-chain” concept is not getting through to Dudley so easily (especially since Dudley is used to eating everything in sight). I can see Dudley putting on his “normal” face to the students and teachers, and I’m sure they’re not buying it. The teachers may be more civil, but the students can be down-right cruel. I imagine Dudley gets teased mercilessly because of his weight. I imagine Dudley got teased even more when he tried to pull his “biggest, baddest” face but “I’m telling!” doesn’t work in secondary school. (Now that I think about it, the infamous diet may not have come from just the school nurse. It may have come from the guidance counselor.)

So what did Dudley see at the hands of the Dementors? I think he saw his worst fears realized. The Dementors were doing their job. What are his fears? Dudley has a fear of abnormalcy, a skewed inferiority complex if you will. From the time he was born, he has struggled to be thought of as normal. Now, that's pretty easy when he has a bona fide wizard in the house and his parents don't want to risk hurting his feelings. Now, imagine Dudley going off to Smeltings trying to make friends. He can't tell anyone much about his home life. He's obviously spoiled, and he eats like it's going out of style. Well, I can imagine word got around quick that Dudley Dursley was, for lack of a better term, a "freak".

Might as well... some HP and SW talk

5/17/05 - As if I don't already lack a life, I can't wait until Thursday! Star Wars Episode III!!!!!

6/9/05 - OK... Could've waited for SWIII... What a piece of thestral dung!!!! After all the hard work Lucas put into the other five Star Wars movies, you would think he would work twice as hard on the finale. Hell no!!! He choreographs a few fights (which weren't really spectacular) and puts some gaudy, overused, shallow dialogue in between. I have lost all respect for George Lucas. I hope he sees an unemployment line soon, even though he deserves worse!!!

I also announce that I am a member of the HMS Harmony. I sat on the fence a long time but I finally sided. The so-called Good Ship is like the SS Minnow (Gilligan's Island). The crew is nice enough and they seem smart but they can't see the big gaping hole in the hull. It's taking on water fast but they're in such shallow waters it doesn't really matter...

And now, it seems that shipping has taken over my life. I can't stop thinking about it. Every few seconds, panic grips my heart because I wonder if JKR really knows what she's doing.

What really decided it for me was the fact that Ron and Hermione were in the same house together for an extended period of time and NOTHING happened. Now, granted, anything that could've happened wouldn't have been brought to light right away. However, after a year (or ten months), nobody seemed to be feeling guilty about anything. Also, the big hug from Hermione when Harry arrives at Grimmauld Place is enough to say four things: 1)Thank Merlin! Ron is getting annoying! 2) I'm so sorry for keeping secrets from you. 3) I have nothing to feel guilty about. and 4) I really, really missed you!
